Chocolate Chip Cookies recipe – 117 calories
Ingredients:
2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
2 eggs
2/3 cup margarine
2/3 cup shortening
3 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon butter flavoring
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup white sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla
Preparation:
1. In a mixing bowl, beat together the margarine, shortening, white and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
2. Add the eggs, butter flavoring and vanilla; mix well.
3. Stir in the flour, baking soda and salt until well combined.
4. Stir in the chocolate chips.
5. Chill the dough about 1/2 hour.
6. Shape into walnut-sized balls and flatten slightly with a glass dipped in sugar.
7. Bake at 375 degrees F for about 8-10 minutes.

I thought this was meant to be a diet website, but this recipe contains a higher amount of fatty ingredients than most of the recipes for chocolate chip cookies I have seen online…
In particular shortening which has a higher percent of pure fat than butter or margerine…
I’m just a little curious and confused
It looks like a lovely recipe, but the labelling of low-fat or diet seems a little… well exaggerated
